I missed it, and I did not realize how many games I had missed. (Being around 7 when I first got it.)
What are some good cheap games for it? Is there a good wireless controller for it? Would you recommend I buy component cables?
Thank you!
Indeed it is!!Xeogred wrote:That and it would help if you told us what you've played, what genres or whatnot you're looking for... because man oh man the PS2 library is a beast.

I have heard that the Logitech controllers are good. I will probably be buying an upscaler to play the PS2 on my monitor. I'll stick with the composite until then, but I will definitelyisiolia wrote:There are tons of great, cheap games for the PS2. It's also a great time to be buying them. It'd really depend on the genres you like - and obviously the PS1 library is up for grabs too.
Without anything more specific to go on, look at games that have gotten HD collections, since they were updated/remade for a reason - plus the cheap collected versions serve to make the originals less valuable![]()
Greatest Hits labels aren't a complete quality indicator, but they do indicate the game sold pretty well, and that it got (at least) a second print run.
If you give some genres you're particularly interested in I'm sure you'd get plenty of more specific suggestions.
I've got a pair of the Logitech wireless controllers for mine, and like them.
If you have a TV that can do progressive scan (fairly rare for CRT, but standard on flat panels), then component cables are a very worthwhile upgrade. If not, then they're only a marginal upgrade over S-Video ('course, if you have neither, component make more sense to get).
While some PS2 games will allow you to toggle progressive scan on via menu options, quite a lot of them require you hold triangle and X while the game is booting to enable it.
I really loved Sly Cooper as a kid. I beat the first one, and I got Sly 3 free with my console.Valkyrie-Favor wrote:The Tri-Ace games are awesome if you like RPGs, and for platformers you must play Sly 2.
If you have a progressive display, use the GS Mode homebrew with freeMCBoot.
This man speaks the truth! Soooo many great games on the PS2 are so dirt cheap these days I've been snatching them up and playing them like crazy. I have a 360 and a PS3 but honestly I haven't touched either in a while due to the 50+ PS2 games I've collected due to clearance sales at second hand shops.isiolia wrote:There are tons of great, cheap games for the PS2.
