I'm stuck. I invested hours upon hours into this game, and now I'm stuck. I was sent to Hightower, the monkey Sten's hometown. I end up having to use Sten in my party to access the town using his special ability to stretch and reach across short gaps. Well, at the front of the town there's a save point dragon statue like in any town. I immeadiatly save my game...But then our party gets separated and I'm only playing as Sten. And the Dragon Statue prevents me from switching out my party at this point.
The problem is, I never use Sten. Sten sucks. So he was woefully under-leveled and under-geared. And the first thing I have to do is fight a boss battle against some other monkey in the town that's angry with Sten. He completely flattens me everytime in 2 hits flat. And he attacks first so I'm screwed every battle. Unfortunately there is not an armor/weapon shop in this town, and the game won't allow me to leave town. So there's really not much I can do.
I feel so cheated and angry because I spent sooooo much time grinding and leveling-up the characters I did use regularly!

There should be a dungeon area around where you are that has good equipment for Sten, getting those items will make your life substantially easier. Once you do that maybe get some healing items (the ones that heal you each round, I can't remember what they're called) and you should be able to kill that boss in like 2 rounds.

Are you fighting Torubo? All you need is to be able to stay alive something like three rounds and the battle will end automatically.BurningDoom wrote:and the game won't allow me to leave town.
Can you go back to an older save?

Oh man I'm sorry... I haven't played Breath of Fire II in a few years. It's a great game, but certainly has some broken down parts.

He still appears outside of town when he loads his save.irixith wrote:Dylan wrote:There should be a dungeon area aroundBurningDoom wrote:and the game won't allow me to leave town.

Well that's good to know. Problem is the furthest I've made it is 2 round, lol. Plus there's the fact that Turubo always attacks before I do and gets 2 hits in before it's my turn. And no, I can't go back to an older save, I always save over my last save. I'm sure statistically, if I just keep trying, I can make 1 more round eventually, though.irixith wrote:Dylan wrote:There should be a dungeon area aroundAre you fighting Torubo? I have already gotten those items in the dungeon that were mentioned, and it did help out Sten's stats, but not enough it seemed. And the monsters I'm fighting in that very, very small dungeon that was pointed out in town give me a pitiful amount experience.
