Sega Getting Fan Input on Next All-Stars Racing Characters

Sumo Digital, the developers of Sonic and Sega All-Stars Racing Transformed, recently announced that they are looking for fan input for the next characters to include in the game via DLC. If a certain character gets at least 1000 votes, it will be submitted for review to Sega. As of now, Segata Sanshiro is in the lead (as he very well should be) with 2,300 votes. But, more importantly, Ristar is very, very close to meeting the threshold, with 904 votes. So, I implore you, for the love of all that is Sega, vote for Ristar. As fellow retro gamers, you know that he needs to be remembered. Also, vote for Alis from Phantasy Star while you're there. She's only at 300 votes, and it would be great to see more Master System-era characters in the spotlight, or at least something to block out the embarrasment that Danica Patrick is in the game, for some strange reason.

Well Ristar seems like a no-brainer for this game. He's a cutesy, lovable, cartoonish character that fits perfectly into a cart-racer and is a Sega made character. He should have been there to begin with.

Yeah, I saw this on Sonic Stadium a couple of days ago. I put my votes in. I'm really hoping Alys gets some more attention, as well as Axel and Blaze.

Its all a big maybe, but here's hoping it comes through anyway.

Speaking of Sonic Stadium though, its been discovered (a few days ago actually) that there's another unlockable character in the game.

Alex Kidd is unlocked automatically on Christmas day.

You can switch the console date to get him, but as soon as you connect online again and get the real current date he disappears. He remains available after Christmas though, so everyone will have him once that time rolls around.

Pretty cool secret, and a cool way to deliver it.

Since transforming vehicles are the main deal here, why not Kid Chameleon? I'm not sure if he had any powerups that could enable flight or aquatic travel, though. I don't know much about the game, except it's effing HUGE! It actually almost scared me away from my current desire to do a write-up for a possible next-gen version.

We need to have the Hornet from Daytona driving a cart. Or Uma. How about SoR and Virtua Cop characters sharing a police car.
