Pat The NES Punk DVD (Indiegogo)

Post by phillyman »

I never did get to help with the AVGN movie fund raiser, but Pat the NES Punk is doing a Indiegogo campaign to raise funds to put his work on DVD. I for one am funding it, because not only are his video's enjoyable......but I want to see more of this type of stuff out there!

Good luck to him. I hope no one criticizes him for this because the cost of making DVDs is very, very real (source: I'm a professional DVD author, well we don't do many DVDs anymore, but still).

We have been thinking of doing something like this for Game Sack, but the question basically boils down to DVD or Blu-ray. DVDs would be less than our Youtube quality. But not everyone has a Blu-ray player. Plus I've never authored a proper Blu-ray for mastering.

I'd actually say Blu-Ray for longevity's sake as well not compromising the quality of your YouTube videos! Plus, if a better version is on Youtube then I don't know about anyone else but I'd definitely use Youtube to watch it, or download the 1080p versions off of it to watch on a TV. If it makes more work though I'm sure DVDs will sell just as good if not better for you guys.

I'd buy a Game Sack comp - no doubt about it. Either format although blu ray would be great for space and quality.
