Evolution and VGA

Post by Amon »

Hello Everyone.
I tried to play Evolution 1 for the dreamcast using the vga box racketboy sells (the one with the svideo out). I get a message saying this game doesn't support the AV cable that is currently connected to the main console. Turn off the power and replace the AV cable. On the box it lists that it is vga cord compatible and the it is listed as vga compatible on list here on this site. Is there something wrong with my vga box and or copy of evolution (actual store bought copy). Thanks in advance.

Hmmm, strange. Did you try any other games with your vga box?

The only way to deactivate the ray beam and fight back the vampire alien threat is with a complicated series of foot patterns on the device's control board that looks remarkably like a DDR pad. We will all praise this man for saving our lives and buy him a mountain of stuffed animals.

I've heard of games supporting VGA without stating it on the box, but never the other way around.

Yah it works with other games. I used the switch method of getting it to boot in vga mode and it worked. I am just worried that I will damage the vga box. It may have something to do with the fact that its not an official vga cable but I am not sure. There was a comment on the vga compatiblity list mentioning someone else having trouble with evolution.
