Apparently the company Silicon Knights has been court ordered to destroy all unsold copies of the games. That ought to spike the rarity on these titles.

Neither of those games are really any good.

There is justice to be found in these games getting recalled.
Maybe now Nintendo will acknowledge Metroid has a fanbase?

Depends on expectations. It's not -great-, but were it actually rare it's probably at least got enough ideas, like the semi-interesting adaptation of mythology, that it could be spun into a "hidden gem".Nemoide wrote:But isn't Too Human supposedly terrible?
Objectively, X-Men Destiny is much, much worse.
That said, while I did order Too Human on Friday for $15 (and it's now about three times that on Amazon), I think the only real rarity is going to be new/sealed copies. If VGChartz is even partly accurate, there were probably 360,000+ copies of Too Human, and at least close to 200,000 copies of X-Men Destiny sold. Making them far more plentiful than, say, your average Disgaea title or similar for used copies.
It wouldn't entirely surprise me if Silicon Knights is actually using this as a last-ditch strategy to move some copies.

I doubt any money that Silicon Knights makes off of this will go into their pockets. This is most likely the end for the company.isiolia wrote: It wouldn't entirely surprise me if Silicon Knights is actually using this as a last-ditch strategy to move some copies.

Yeah...I read the article. With that sort of damages award, it sounds to me like Silicon Knights is dead in the water.OldSchool_Boy wrote:I doubt any money that Silicon Knights makes off of this will go into their pockets. Prices will skyrocket only if demand for the game is high.
Weren't thousands of copies of ET supposedly destroyed? The game is worth about $1.50.

on the flip, EA's NBA 11 was canceled because it's a total broken mess. It's worth a lot of $ though.BoneSnapDeez wrote:Prices will skyrocket only if demand for the game is high.

Definitely seems like the end for them. I mean more that seeing it hit the gaming news circuit might help alleviate their costs a little. If people go buy up remaining copies, they don't need to pay to ship them back, and instead they get a little cash to put towards the rest of the settlement costs, if not other bills/paychecks/whatever.prfsnl_gmr wrote:Yeah...I read the article.
