David Letterman , did he cheat or not ?

hi RB members , i havent watched the David Letterman Show in over a year or so. The reason is there was some reports down here in Australia that he cheated on his wife/girlfriend.

So i stopped watching it , i was wondering if the reports were true or false ?

Ive watched the show since 1996 and liked it , im hoping to get back into it if hes an honest man.

Things like this always annoyed me.

What does his personal life have to with if he is entertaining or not to watch? If he cheated on his wife, are his jokes or performance somehow less impressive. He is not on TV while cheating on his wife, he is not on TV telling everyone to do it, what he does in his private life is his own business, has nothing to do with is show.

People say stuff like this with singers, musicians, actors all the time. They are paid to act, sing, etc. people that read gossip rags and then change there view of a performer based on what they are fuel gossip rags to post dumber and dumber shit.

You said you like him, watch him. He didn't cheat on you.

It depends on what your convictions are. I personally wouldn't watch a show if the actor was a convicted child molester or rapist. Or if the person is extremely racist or a wife beater. I don't want to support a person like that. I no longer will watch a Mel Gibson movie. He beat his ex wife while she was holding their child and said that he "hopes she gets raped by a pack of (expletive meaning black people)". How can you overlook something like that while trying to enjoy a movie, knowing that your money went to support someone like that?

Dave was having an affairs with multiple staff members and let it all out on national television. At first the audience thought it was a joke, but when they realized he was telling the truth it got awkward.

For me the issue with Letterman had nothing to do with "Cheating" What bothered me was that he clearly used his position as the man that can fire you to convince women who worked for him to perform sexual favors. His cheating is no issue. His sexual harassment of those women shows he is a man of low character and it reveals his lack of respect for women. Can you imagine your Mother, Sister, daughter working for a man that used his authority as Boss to debase you for his own sexual gratification? Why can't famously rich David Letterman have a girlfriend on the side who isn't threatened with the loss of her job? Besides Letterman hasn't been funny in ages, He has old man angry and bitter disease. Kind of like what happened to George Carlin before he died.

Getting women who work for him to sleep with him does not mean you can imagine things. What you are describing is rape through blackmail. Which is, I don't know, illegal? What he probably did was just be charming and got them to sleep with him, or at worst, promised to help them further their careers, which is morally wrong, but not legally.

If, what you pulled out of your hat and said, was true, they problem wouldn't have been him cheating. It would be getting sued. If he's been sued for something like that, please someone provide evidence.

Letterman Effect on CBS Brand David Lande, a New York City-based civil attorney whose cases have included sexual harassment, said Letterman presumably was in a position of power with a voice in hiring, firing and promotions.

Letterman is ethically challenged..The fact that nobody sued him for harassment has nothing to do with what I said. What Letterman engaged fits the legal definition of sexual Harassment. Also, If anyone out there is a boss they know what I am saying is absolutely true. When you are in a position of power you have a responsibility to those under you. Many work places , in fact, specifically ban inter office relationships for just this reason. So I stick by my opinion and am okay that you think I am wrong and that Letterman is a great guy. Fair enough?

I never mentioned rape, speaking of making things out of thin air, I said harrassment. Also, being sued is not proof of a crime nor is the lack of being sued proof of no crime, I.e. If you stole my trashcan and I saw you...but decided not to report it to police..did you still steal my trashcan? If I don't sue you over the trashcan theft....are you innocent?
I understand that you are a fan of Letterman. Good for you. I once was myself.
