I recently picked up a few SFC games at an anime convention and removed the tabs in my SNES to play them. Although I can't read the language myself I just like playing the games for some reason. But, I don't think I'd enjoy an RPG or anything too story heavy due to the language barrier.
I'd love to get my hands on some more SFC carts, so if you could recommend some I'd love it.

bomberman 3 is pretty good, if you are looking for the mega man x games for pretty cheap, sfc versions are a legit option as well. some exclusives that would be good to pick up would be like any of the parodius games, go go ackman, ganbare goemon, sanrio world smash ball, and cotton. those pop up off the top of my head and are on the slightly less expensive side. there are some good lists online if you hit up ye olde google.

Umihara Kawase is pretty good. It's a platformer with a grappling hook kind of like Bionic Commando, only cuter.

Super Tetris 2 is alright.
Mario & Wario would give you another use for the mouse controller, if into that.

One of my absolute favorite Super Famicom exclusives is Battle Dodgeball, A.K.A. SD Gundam Dodgeball. It has really good sprite art and it is a great fast-paced dodgeball game with awesome special moves and a level-up and team building system.
Highly recommended. Also if you like having physical copies of games get E.V.O. Search for Eden. It had a North American release as well but that release is super rare, goes for around the same price as Earthbound. I played through the game on an emulator but if you don't mind playing the game in Japanese it is quite affordable for the Super Famicom. Also don't worry, the game has no choices but there is a level-up screen with important text. Still, not much necessary reading.

Rockman 7 is worth getting since its way cheaper than the US snes version and it has a slightly different weapon get sequence. Another fun game to check out is Kunio Kun tachi no Banka, which is part of the Rivercity ransom/kunio kun series, so if you like beat-em-ups check it out. If you like shmups then go for the Twinbee and Parodius games

I didn't realize this was an SFC game. I'd only ever heard of it on the PSX.

Yes, Umihara Kawase was originally on the SFC, then two versions were made for the PS1. There are also Umihara Kawase games on the DS and PSP, but the PSP version is no good due to flawed gameplay programming. (IIRC, the fishing pole can't be cast diagonally or something.)

Sutte Hakkun - one of Nintendos best puzzle platformers that was never released out of Japan.
