What mouse / keyboard do you use ?

Post by elmagicochrisg »

What mouse / keyboard do you use?...

What do you use it for mostly?...

Would you recommend it to others and why?...

I use this Cherry set:

Use it for browsing and mild gaming most of the time...

It sucks. I like laptop style keys, but the print on these fades hyperfast. Wireless reception is sucky at best, even though the receptor is huge. Mouse scroll wheel acts up after a few months. Double clicks on the left mouse button after a few months...

Would not recommend in a million years...

Laptop style keys? Eeeeewwwwwwwwwwwwwww. :?

I use a lovely old huge barge of a keyboard with Alps switches like I was selling in my BST thread until the last was snapped up the other week. Mine have the proper backspace/backslash/enter keys, not the misplaced and mangled L shaped monstrosities. Currently using the black one and I have 2 greys as well. Mouse wise I have a Logitech MX518 that I've been using for years. The raised logo on the top is all worn and looks like ass, but otherwise it looks ok and works like a champ.

The surface of that mouse looks like it's soft and takes the form of your hand.

Or does it just look that way?...

I have the above mentioned Dell keyboard courtesy of Hobie. It's a real treat to type on, and I love the feedback when gaming. My mouse is a Razer Deathadder (3500DPi model) which works very well for my palm-claw hybrid grip.

I use the keyboard built into my laptop and the mouse it came with. It's actually not bad. This what that kinda looks like. The mouse is the same but obviously the keyboard isn't.

If I have my laptop hooked to the TV, I got a usb keyboard for a couple of bucks at a thrift store that didnt have dust and strange mystery goop on it. It's a pretty nice Dell one.

Optical illusion. The metallic blue portion is smooth on the surface.

@JT

That laptop keyboards looks absolutely fucking awful to type on. Looks almost like a rubber chiclet keyboard. *shudder*

Keyboard: Gateway SK-1510

This is the best keyboard I've ever owned. Maybe about 10 years ago now, I needed a keyboard. All I did was go on eBay and try to find something that looked decent at a low price. I guess I lucked out. I got it new old stock. This thing has stood up against time. I've been pounding away on it for about a decade now, none of the lettering has faded at all! All the keys still work great. I've thought about picking up another new old stock one some time just to keep as a backup.

The only problem is that it uses PS/2. Luckily, my i7 mobo that I built a few years ago has a single keyboard PS/2 port. But I'm guessing my next build (years from now) will not have one.

Mouse: Logithech MK310

If I've had my keyboard for about 10 years, I've had this mouse longer than that. Aside from looking worn, it functions just as good as the day I got it. This is the mouse that made me a slave to browser buttons. Other than that, what else can you say about a mouse?
