Hi scores in Mame

I'm sure a few years ago MAME used to save hiscores for game. But new builds appear not to do this.

I think theres MAMEplus which is meant to add saved hiscores but for me it only works on some games not all of them.

Does anyone have a solution to this?

I typically use savestates for everything - that includes saving high scores from one session to another.

You could also take screenshots of your high scores so that if you need to prove something to a friend you can just show them the pic.

But you have to manually save and restore each ROM save state, don't you?

I know the highscore.dat files can work if you configure them. Though back when I used it you had to manually configure each game, took me six hours to do Ms Pacman with a debugger. I do not know they have updated it to work with the nvram stuff yet.

Yes, but considering its one or two added key press on top of the "insert credit and press 1P" routine... It would be nice if it kept them automatically, though.

What about MAME plus guys?

I've tried it out and it does auto save/load states for hi scores but only for some games. Any ideas on how to set it up to work on other games?
