I myself am guilty of this.
I got a 3DO last December specifically to play Guardian War. It's still the only game I own for the console.
I bought a Sega CD just for the Lunar games. I've also managed to grab a copy of Vay, but nothing else.
I think I like collecting consoles more than I like collecting games.
Ever buy a console for just ONE (or two) games?

Re: Ever buy a console for just ONE (or two) games?
Well I just recently bought a Dreamcast mostly for Jet Grind Radio, although I do plan to get some other games for it eventually. Also the guy who sold me the DC gave me a few freebie sports titles as well, so it's not the only game I own.
If I ever get a Sega Master System, however, there's only one game that I would really want to get for it: Phantasy Star. Nothing else really seems to interest me.

I'd like to get Turbografx-CD just for Rondo of Blood and Ys book I & II. If I got one, I'd start searching for hidden gems and buy some cheap ones just for the heck of it though.
Why? It's not a particularly good SRPG or anything. It does have a certain early console "3D" graphics-charm to it, but there's not very much strategy or depth involved in the actual gameplay. There's better stuff on 3DO, Star Control, Wing Commander, Gex, D, Samurai Showdown, Street Fighter...

-I've pretty much only played Steel Battalion on my Xbox.
-My Jaguar is almost exclusively a Tempest 2000 machine.
Edit: I realized I played Halo 1 and 2 on the 360, not the original system, so yeah - my Xbox is a SB machine.

The only game I have for my original xbox is Fable and it has been that way for a long time. The only other games I've ever had for it were the ones that came with it when I bought it at a yard sale. They were all stupid so I got rid of them pretty fast. I still have no interest in any other games for it, honestly I'm not even really sure why I keep the damn thing. haha

Tactics Ogre: Let Us Cling Together is my only PSP game.
Re: Ever buy a console for just ONE (or two) games?
Well, kind of, but it didn't stay that way at all.
I bought an original xbox the day before Fable came out. Fable and Shenmue 2 were the reasons I picked up the system, but I ended up buying many more games for it and it became my console of choice during that generation. The only exceptions to that were exclusives for the other systems (obviously) and the Sonic games, which I always bought on Gamecube.
So I guess I don't really count for this.

I originally bought the oXbox just so I could play Halo 2 online with friends.
I bought the 360 for Oblivion and Deadrising when it came out...
I bought the Gamecube for Mario Sunshine and Mario Kart.
I'm buying the Wii U for just a few games, though more will surely come.
ZombiU
Bayonetta 2
Rayman Legends

You'd be better off getting a PC Engine Duo.

Don't forget other must have CD games like:
Gate of Thunder
Lords of Thunder
Spriggan
Star Parodier
Gradius II
Ai Cho Aniki
and a LOT more!
