Round 1 Bowling and Amusement in SoCal (mucho pics!)

Post by CD AGES »

After alienjesus thread on his Arcade trip to Casino Leisure Centre in London and my request asking for pictures of the location, I'd thought i'd get the ball rolling in this regard and post pics of one of the largest Arcade establishments in my area, Round 1 in SoCal. To my knowledge this (and the other location in Moreno Valley CA) are the only Round 1 locations outside of Asian territories and i'm certain its the same franchise as the popular establishments found in its native Japan. Here are some pics taken of the location just yesterday...

Apologies in advance if some of the pics are too dark or blurry :?

Entrance from inside the Mall
Image
Tekken Tag 2 Unlimited with complimentary Live Monitor currently showcased in front of the arcade entrance as it's one of their recent releases
Image
Can anyone here translate this? looks Korean...
Image
Enjoy some Jun Kazama throwdown...
Image
and LOVE some Unknown matches even more (she's kinda OP'd so its fun) Wish I had a Noir Cabinet :( Oh well Tag 2 on 360 will do  Support Tag 2 on consoles everyone!
Image
Lots n Lots of JPN Crane machines!
Image
Plenty of Photo booths scattered across the venue
Image
Image
Image
Vast selection of music arcade games, Guitar freaks, Drum-mania, Technika, Beatmania and the list goes on
Image
Darius Burst cab! other shmups include Castle Shikigami 3 and Raiden 4
Image
Image
Plenty of Rail Shooters! Let Go Island, HotD4, Time Crisis 4, DeadStorm Pirates, etc.
Image
Image
Lots of fighters include, Gundam Vs, Chaos Code, KOF XIII Climax, Blaze Blue, 3rd Strike, MVC2, Tekken 6 BR...
Image

This is the fighting game i was talking about on alienjesus thread! Pics of the title screen, intro and Instruction card.

I didn't have time to take picture of their racing games cuz i was busy battling a few on TTT2U, Sorry :(
Rest assured though, their racing lineup is ridiculous!
If anyone here is planning a visit to the SoCal area, make sure to stop by this wonderful place
Anyone with an awesome arcade in their area, please share pics 8)

Yeah, that looks just like the non-free-play arcade area separated from the Amusement section of the Round 1 in Odaiba. Nice pics.

I'm surprised they have Darius Burst, though. I thought that the only unit in the US was one on loan in an Arcade in Utah.

If by loan you mean "Location test" unit. The one at the Game Grid Arcade in Utah was to see if the machine would prove profitable in the US market as Taito was considering making the machine available to US operators. I honestly don't recall how well the machine did but the owner did mention it did rather well and increased attendance among his location.

Yeah, that's the one.

Is the one at your Round 1 also a Location Test unit?

No, The one at Round 1 seems to be the JPN model that's been modded to display in English. As a matter of fact, they have alot of JPN exclusive games that have been engineered to display English text. Tank Tank Tank, Guitar Freaks and Drum Mania spring to mind.

Man, I'd love to have that kind of arcade in my area.

...of course I'd probably have a lot less money as a result.

There isn't a single other human in any of these photos. How is this place staying in business?

Early 10am opening hours baby 8)

It also helps that I possess an uncanny ability to refrain from taking shots when people are walking thru

(Scratch that last statement :D)

amazing to me that arcades like this exist outside of Japan. I've got Fun Spot about 2.5 hrs away. But anything closer is basically Dave & Busters.
