Saturn Controllers

So I have 3 Saturn controllers that all have faulty connectors on them. I was wondering if there was any way people have resurrected these controllers as it seems it is quite a common occurance. I was thinking maybe buying new third party controllers and soldering the wires together, but that sounds messy... lol I just need to brush up on my skills. But if there's any other way to do it I would love to hear it!

you can try extension cords too, might be cheaper
