Pokemon Puzzle League options

Pokemon Puzzle League options
I picked up a cart-only copy of Pokemon Puzzle League, and I'm having trouble deciphering the options. Can anyone help me out?
BLOCKS [BASIC, POKEMON] (easy enough)
MATCH [1, 2, 3] (rounds to win in stadium mode?)
SIGN [OFF, ON, SEMI, BLINK] (no clue)
SP.SIGN [OFF, ON] (no clue)
CPU [OFF, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10] (computer level for 2 player mode?)
S.MOTION [OFF, ON] (I read somewhere it's like the slowdown in Tetris Attack, but that doesn't really help me since I haven't played that game.)

Great game. Panel de Pon is one of the best puzzlers ever, and the N64 version is pretty great. Alright, so here's what each of the options mean. It's been a few years so I apologize if I get one of these wrong, but I'm pretty sure:
BLOCKS [BASIC, POKEMON] - This changes what the blocks actually look like. You can choose between the regular Panel De Pon patterns or the Pokemon Generation 1 Gym badges.
MATCH [1, 2, 3] - The number of rounds required to proceed in most single player battles.
SIGN [OFF, ON, SEMI, BLINK] - The style of tell when an opponent gets a match that will sent garbage blocks onto your side.
SP.SIGN [OFF, ON] - If you will be notified by sound if the opponent is about to send a giant garbage block to your field.
CPU [OFF, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10] - The relative intelligence of the opponent, therefore the difficulty.
S.MOTION [OFF, ON] - This means Stop Motion, not Slow Motion. If the block stack will stop rising if you get a combo.

Thanks, Satoshi_Matrix. That helps somewhat, although I'm still not quite sure what the different values for SIGN and SP.SIGN do. I can play around with it and try to figure them out though, now that I have a vague understanding of what they do. Nintendo did a really poor job of making this game user-friendly, especially since it wasn't translated from a Japanese release.
ExedExes, I'm looking forward to it! Maybe by then I won't be quite so terrible at the game. It seems like the learning curve for Puzzle League is much steeper than for most Tetris-style puzzlers.

I bought this game because I thought it would be 4 player Tetris Attack. But it's still only 2 players! Why did they do this?
4 player games were a big gimmick for the N64 and almost all the other puzzle games for the system games were 4 players...

The updated Yoshie Cookie and Dr. Mario is also nice.
