DS as a book reader

Post by kinn »

I think the DS with its 2 screens would be ideal as some kind of book reader. I've not been keeping up to date on the DS homebrew scene but last time I checked there wasnt any app that does this. So does anyone know if there is an app for something like this?

In Japan, Nintendo released Bungaku Zenshuu wiht 100 pack in books I believe. You just drag the stylus to flip through pages.

in addition to displaying other formats, I think it's very important that you can adjust how the words are displayed. that brain age training game had a mini-game where you had to read pages and I could tell that if it were a real ebook my eyes wouldn't like it after a while... too bright

That sounds ideal. Any ideas if this is coming out in the rest of the world?

And thanks for the links!

It would be ideal for me if there is plucker support. I know I know, but a good chunk of older ebooks are only in plucker, and I havent had the time to convert them. Also you can usually fit more in the same space as txt. I know on my old Zire71 I could fit six books in txt, or fifteen in plucker.
