Classic controller for gamecube

Post by vlame »

So looking for wii accessories I noticed they have chinese classic controllers that connect to the NGC.

Is anyone familiar with these? I don't see why they can't replace the Hori Gameboy Player Controller.

I was actually looking for a classic controller pro that connects to NGC. Maybe I can get a chinese CC NGC and a chinese CCPro and frankenstein them up.

wow if only the normal CC grips weren't $160

Maybe an adapter for a PS1/PS2 Duel Shock? Similar layout as the Classic Controller.

My brother has the Hori Gameboy Player Controller, and I've always been jealous of it. It's like a SNES-styled Gamecube controller and it's freaking awesome! I've never seen one in the wild, and I had no idea is went for so much online. I think I might be getting it off of him for $20 now that I know that...

Very good for certain type of games on the GameCube like GBA or platform game (megaman for the gamecube is one of them). Unfortunately, to found it at a good price is going to be hard, mostly because they have a limited release in North America.

If you're just looking for a Game Boy Player controller, I'd recommend just using the GBA with a link. I understand some people don't realize this works.

Game Boys can also be used as controllers for WarioWare Mega Party Games, I think.

It works, and its what I usually do, but having to change/charge batteries just to use a wired controller sucks.

I'd love the hori one. I'll probably buy one eventually, even at that price. I only use my gamecube for GBA stuff nowadays anyway.

I bought one of those classic controller for gamecubes straight from Hong Kong a couple years back. I got it for $7 shipped and I felt for that much money I got what I paid for. Feels like a real classic controller. Use it on Mario Kart double dash and Wii a lot and people always get confused by it. If I could have had a hori gameboy player for the same amount I would totally pick the hori.

Considering that people can make adapters from Digikey parts for just about any video game controller, why not this? They've already made Gamecube to N64 adapters. Hopefully some tinkerer one day will post a guide.
