Update: In another Tweet, Annunziata confirmed that soundtrack composer for Ecco the Dolphin, Spencer Nilsen, “is on board.” Sounds like the project is going forward.

This is nice news.
If they make a new Ecco game that is good I would be very interested in playing it.
If they screw it up it won't make the older games worse, and I'm guessing at least the soundtrack will be good.

True. I enjoyed the 3d Ecco (which was not done by the original team in fact) but it did have some control issues. Some of the best levels in it are the nostalgic 2d levels.

Although that part where you go in sky water-tubes in 3d is extremely hard, but also a pretty unique experience.

I'm definitely excited for the possibility. If it happens I'm buying for sure.

I have to say though, that I can't comprehend why the Dreamcast sequel was a "debacle".
