So I put it to the test on a sports game that was perfect. (I know, I should have took pics). I took sand paper to it, and then the sharp edge of a pair of scissors. It looked bad and played worse. Actually it didnt even boot. I tried multiple machines and nothing would boot this nasty beast. It looked like someone strapped it to their tire and drove on the highway with it.
So I did it like this:
20 seconds on fine sand paper
20 seconds white buff
10 seconds blue buff
Put it in, a few tense moments later and there it was, worked fine. I was truly surprised and I am very happy with it. (no I do not work for them

Too bad I destroyed my TMNT by over buffing. Yeah, 2 minutes on the sandpaper was probably too much. (anyone got a loose TMNT for the XBOX they wanna let go my way?) Truthfully though, for a disc that is roughed up but still functions, a 20 second buff brings it back to like new. I would not go more than 10 second increments after that. I also suggest just ignoring the 1 and 2 minute buttons. I have no idea why they are even there to be honest. That may be my biggest complaint that they put them on there to tempt me!
120 bucks into it and I could not be happier. I have countless games I got in bundles or without inspecting them that are waiting to be buffed out. I am still scared to toss a pricey game on it, but if it was not to work then I guess you dont have anything to lose by trying it.
Lastly, I also learned that you have to make sure the locking nut is tight. I did not tighten it right once and the disc tore up my buffing pad from wobbling.
