Why Isn't There a FPS Section on the Boards?

Post by BurningDoom »

Just curious. It seems the genre is as popular as any other out there.

The last thing we need is a new subforum.

The REAL question is why don't we have a sub-forum for Japanese PC hentai games?

We had one, but took it down after the sting operation was finished.

Racketboy feels incomplete without a specific section for Jaguar CD games.

Right, because all those sub-genres are just as popular as FPS.

It's a retro forum and all of the genre headings are for games that existed before 3D polygonal graphics became all the rage in the 90s after Wolfenstein 3D (I know there was Maze Wars, BattleZone, and Spasism before that, but the genre never hit its stride in the mainstream until Wolf 3D).

We have the "other genres" subforum for stuff like FPS. Even though a lot of us play and discuss FPS games, I think it's good that the site is structured to be mostly focused on an 80s retro thing just to keep us reminded of the old school.

We also have Sega and Nintendo with separate forums as if that battle were still raging. Sony/Microsoft are merged because they're still the new kids on the block from the point of view of the retro eye.

It is still raging. There's a huge contingent of Sega people on this forum who haven't realized that Nintendo won.
