shmups with saturn controller

Post by env963 »

I was playing Darius Gaiden last night on my saturn. And had to ask myself, why the heck do i enjoy this game more on the saturn vs the PS2 compilation. (Taito Legends 2) I am pretty sure its the controller.

Model 2 controllers are probably my favorite of all controllers I have ever used. (Digital anyways) I have to ask myself. How do i get this controller to work on my dreamcast/PS2/PS3/Wii? LOL

I see they make a few different converters. But I guess i would end up with probably 3 or 4 different ones. I might just pick up a USB to saturn controller converter.

Anyone here feel the same?

I am assuming this would also work for the PS3?

It probably also helps that the Saturn port of Gaiden is better than the ps2 port. Plus, it has that extreame controversial auto-fire rate accessible with a cheat, that makes the game much different (easier)

I agree that the Model 2 Saturn is an excellent controller though, you can't go wrong picking up some converters to use them on your other consoles.

I feel you on this one. I only use a Saturn pad when I can (Saturn, PS1/PS2, PC). I used to use sticks for shoot-em-ups but I long since stopped. The Saturn pad is perfect.

I think that Mayflash announced that they are developing a Saturn to USB adapter. So keep an eye out for that.

Edit: here, it looks like it's already available http://www.mayflash.com/?Products/PCUSB/PC048.html
