Well, I have been playing through Majora's Mask on the Gamecube Zelda Collection, but have been on hiatus for some time, because of my own damn completionist instincts. Basically, I beat the Snowhead temple, but I didn't know until afterwards that you had to rush through it as fast as possible if you wanted to do the Gilded Sword side-quest. Now, it's 5 AM on the first night, so I don't have even close to enough time to complete the side-quest, and I sure as hell am not going through the entire Snowhead Temple again just for a shot at it. Thus, here we are.
I have been trying to use my Action Replay to use a code which will put Gold Dust in one of my bottles, which essentially completes the quest. But, it appears that the master code on the site is incorrect, as it gives me a "Code is for another game" error. I triple-checked the code to ensure it is the same as the one on the site, and I am 100% sure it is an exact match. My only guess is that the code is wrong. Can anyone else weigh in on this? Is there another master code floating around somewhere? It there some trick I am missing?

Shouldn't you be able to just skip to the boss if you've already finished the temple once?

Really? I thought if you reset time, you had to go through the entire temple over again. Also, do bottle contents get erased when you use the Song of Time? If so, I could just go get the gold dust now, and not have to go through the side-quests again after beating the temple, right?harper wrote:Shouldn't you be able to just skip to the boss if you've already finished the temple once?

Bottle contents are lost. If you revist a completed temple, a warp opens straight to the boss. So you'll still have to get the gold dust and everything in one cycle, but you don't have to rush through a long dungeon.lisalover1 wrote:Really? If you do reset time, all the bottle contents are lost, along with any Fairies you would have collected in the temple. Which is why it's good to spend the full three days in the temple so you can get everything without worrying about going back to the temple in the future (all fairies, items, etc). However, it is true that if you beat a boss then you don't have to go though the temple again because a warp appears at the front of the temple. You will have to beat the boss again but you don't waste time getting though the temple.
I can tell you that unless you know 100% of what you are doing in the temple, you are not going to be getting the upgraded sword in the first run. I've been trying to do it and only once I've been able to do it (and I've played though that game more times then I would like to admit).
You have to spend two nights to upgrade the sword to max, the first day you have it upgraded to the Razor Sword. Then if you go into the temple it normally takes a full day in the temple (even if you slow down time) and by the time you finish the temple and get the gold powder it takes a second day which has already passed. Plus, there is a chance your sword will revert back to normal. Unless you want to try and go though the temple without a sword of course. Unless you go into the temple the first thing in the morning on the first day, you might have a chance but it's easier to just do it within the next 72 hours because the Goron Race itself is hard.
