What are the top priorities in your backlog stack?

Post by J_Wil »

Unfortunately, my love of games is disproportionate to my responsibilities. I have a shit-ton of games that I’ve compiled over the years that I just haven’t had time to get to or started and abruptly stopped because work and other responsibilities took precedence. One of these days I’m going to start chipping away at it. These are the top 10 games on my “to-do” list:

1) Mass Effect 3 (360)
2) Fable III (360)
3) Dragon Age 2 (360)
4) NBA 2K12 (PC) with 2K13 looming, should I even bother?))
5) Gears of War 2 (360)
6) Batman Arkaham City (360)
7) Fallout: New Vegas (360)
8 ) Shinobi Legions (Sega Saturn)
9) Gears of War 3 (360)
10) Eternal Darkness (Gamecube)

There are too many to list. Who knows if I’ll ever actually find time to play them all? I am planning on buying a PS3 in the near future too. There have been a lot of games on that system I've been itching to get my hands on.

Common sense tells me "Don't buy anything more. Play what you have." However, I never claimed to have much sense.
Anyone else have a similar issue with a backlog?
"Oh great, another box of useless sh*t."

Main Collection: http://connect.collectorz.com/users/ynj ... collection - Not looking to move anything on this list but would entertain offers.

Most here do (look at all the backloggery sigs here).

For me... I don't know. I just cycle through my stuff till something really catches me. Arkham City has really gripped me and to a lesser extent Age of Empires 2.

By far the biggest problem for me right now is time. 50 hour work weeks. :(
Older. Not wiser.

Maybe just play the games instead of going online as much?

If you have a gaming PC, I definitely recommend playing Fallout NV and DA2 on there instead of the console.

The problem isn't just games I haven't beaten, but post game stuff I haven't finished or challenges I haven't finished.

1. Finish getting trophies in Batman Arkham City
2. Play Bloodrayne Betrayal
3. Play Heavy Rain a second time to see alternate storylines and get all trophies
4. Go back to playing Flower to get remaining hidden flowers
5. Sit down and finally play through Ico HD Collection
6. Finish my Master Ninja mode playthrough of Ninja Gaiden II so my ego will leave me in peace
7. Beat Dead Nation
8. Finish getting all achievements in Bayonetta (bit of a daunting task as I had a harder time playing this than Ninja Gaiden II. Ninja Gaiden style combat is just more intuitive to me than Devil May Cry style combat)
9. Finish Shank 2
10. Get all trophies in Sonic Generations because I'll take any excuse to play that awesome game again

I have a lot of priorities... first I want to finish the games listed as "now playing" on Backloggery.

I want to play Dragon Quest VIII, DQ VIII, DQ Monsters-Joker, and DQ Monsters-Joker 2. I want to play Final Fantasy X, FF XI, and FF XII. I'm hoping to get to Cool Spot before the end of the summer. I'd like to play the Resident Evil titles I haven't gotten to: RE 3, Code Veronica, RE 0, and RE 4. The Dept. Heaven series - they look great; I can't wait to get to them... but DQ and FF take priority as important JRPGs. I'd like to play Tales of Phantasia and Tales of Symphonia (maybe Destiny/Destiny 2 if I can get them).

You know, I really want to beat all the games in my backlog... it's just going to take a very long while.

The free time is not the problem, the internet is the problem. I don't why i'm here reading about videogames instead of beating perfect dark :?

I kinda just have games on my shelf and I play them when I feel like it. If I made a list of the ones I need to beat and put them in some kind of order it wouldn't be as fun, it would probably even make me feel sort of rushed.

I play what I feel like playing.

I used to try to keep some list of games in the order I was going to play them ... but it just ends up giving me a burnt out feeling. And I noticed I'd end up spending more time managing some list about playing games instead of actually playing games ... so I stopped and just started playing how I wanted ... even if that means I replay something I've already played.

I still think that even playing casually through most people's libraries, they won't actually last that long as long as you keep playing things that can actually be finished (dumping 1000 hours into TF2 isn't really going to do anything to your backlog, for example)
