What's The Deal With Editing?
I want to touch up on the subject of video game edits.I remember reading an article on the development of Alice:Madness Return and how it was edited into a compelety different game from what was originally intended. Its a shame to know that some of these games I'm playing aren't what the creators first had in mind for the players. I also know its because the higher ups decide if the games are going to sell or not. I was wondering if there were any threads about the beginnings of said games that end up being way different at their completion. If not then I think it could be a pretty interesting topic.

Are you trying to find a reason why it happens?

Sometimes games are changed mid-development because the designer stumbled onto something that worked better.
Sometimes it changes because of technical issues.
It's not always about exec interference.
Same reasons movies change during editing.
