To Sell or Keep A Dreamcast

Post by christopher85 »

Should I sell my Dreamcast? I feel like I never play it. I mean I want to invest sometime getting to know this system but its investment is just so expensive. The only games I bought which are: Crazy Taxi & Sonic Adventure, are the only ones that weren't over 30 dollars. I'm losing all hope here because I bought the Dreamcast on a whim from a thrift store thinking it would be fun to collect for. How do you guys know when its time to let go? I know I won't get much for it but maybe its time.

The only expert on the subject of selling your dreamcast or keeping it is you.

I'd say to maybe check other venues for games though. Scanning through Amazon's Dreamcast listings, the vast majority of games have at least some used copies starting in the $5-15 range. Obviously it would depend on what titles actually interest you.

Should I sell my Dreamcast?

Maybe the Forum needs a Subject line on selling and regretting about selling a game systems? There seems to be a lot of these lately. :?

@ christopher - Just keep the Dreamcast, build up the library when you get interested again. It does not cost anything to research all you can about a particular system and finding out its exclusive games and peripherals.

Maybe also give your OP Title a better description such as your question in your first post? You might get a more diverse response.

The dreamcast plays burned CDs. You can download games from the intenet and play them on your Dreamcast if you're only intrested in playing games and not collecting them (or you can try out games that way before making the investment)
My WTB thread (Sega CD/Saturn games)
Also looking to buy: Ys III (TG-16 CD), Shadowrun (Genesis) Hori N64 mini pad and Slayer (3DO) in long box/just the long box

A million times this.

I only own 2 legit Dreamcast games (it makes me feel dirty inside), but I've had an opportunity to play some games that I would have never originally thought of playing that I enjoy, and games I thought I'd enjoy that I now know I will not purchase when it's time to begin the Dreamcast collection.

The Dreamcast might be viewed as a failed system to the General Public, but any true gamer knows what a real gem it is.

My Vote is KEEP IT! :)
