Sega Saturn Mod Chip Question

I have a confirmed Model 1 Sega Saturn (manufactured october 95) it has a 20 pin connector but does not have 5v power wiring shown in the example.

What exactly is the question?

the example on how to put the chip in a 64 pin model 1 saturn made sense its just that the picture at the end did not match up with my system. I checked the 32 pin model 2 instructions and its like my saturn is a mix of both. I am just wondering where the 5v power wiring is. i see where you put the chip in and how to mod that but idk where you relay that red wire.

The 5V power has to be drawn from the power supply. See the updated image below for the area with the red circle around it. Near the power supply it will say which pin has what power. You are looking for the pin that supplies 5V.

all right so i assume i solder a wire from the 5v point on the chip to the 2nd to the top pin that says 5V2A?




many thanks for the fast response i just hope i can get this to work haha otherwise if all else fails i could get a model 2 and not have issues but my old model 1 has sentimental value to me!

I believe that is the correct pin. You do not *have* to solder it, some say you can just jam it in there and hope it sticks, or tape it down. However, I would solder it once I got it to work, so perhaps tape it there until you can get it to work, then go ahead and solder it.
