Ok, so I just figured out (at least one reason) why some people see resized images and when I complained to them as a moderator to fix their images, most people were all "Huhwhat, you are a crazy person". Firefox by default resizes images that are bigger than the browser window. I think letting it gimp you is stupid and I changed this setting so long ago, I'd forgotten about it.

So the difference isn't the forum layout you're using, but that a default setting is cheating you of seeing large images in all their glory. Now when someone posts their huge, blurry, and grainy picture that was taken in the warm glow of a 30 watt light bulb, that's a problem no matter what size it shows on the screen. But this explains why I am seeing gigantic images when others were not.
However, just because the browser is displaying the image smaller, you are still downloading the full image, so it is still inconsiderate to not be paying attention to what you're posting. Please people, check the file size and dimensions of images you are posting. If you're in something where large images are a good thing and expected like BST, room collections, or finds of the day, that's ok as long as it isn't bonkers. Elsewhere be mindful not to post something too huge or spoiler it so it doesn't destroy the page layout and it isn't automatically loaded for people who have less than optimal connections or need to watch their bandwidth.

My Firefox Auto resize for pictures is turned off. On the iMac with Safari same thing. I always see a full image from other member's posts, but only if a direct upload attachment or if I right click view an image. Even though my Firefox resize is off, I think the Forum auto resizes all pictures except attachments and maybe everything is not resized in the Silver Layout?
If I Upload an Attachment that is 900 across, it will stay that way unless I add a command in the reply:
{attachment=0}Sample CRTGAMER Picture.JPG[/attachment}
Any additional links using the {img}{/img} command get the auto resize.
Agree the picture should always be 725 wide or less to save bandwidth and avoid the "tennis match" text read. Exception if it needs a closer view such as a PCB trace layout or a lot of stuff in the picture that needs zoomed in. All direct attachment JPGs larger then 725 wide should utilize the {attachment} commands, with a note to right click for the closer view. A large pic can be placed in a Spoiler, but it might be missed by java locked out browsers and it gets the auto resize anyways. Also Spoilers are uploaded even when hidden so avoid the HUGE pictures to save the bandwidth. Thankfully, direct upload pictures are kept from being too huge, kept in check by the 256k limit unless a hot link.
The worse bandwith are the animated pics, gaaah I hate them. They should only be used rarely and if useful to a Thread. Also please post clear focused pics or don't even bother, a fuzzy picture just ruins a post.
