RGB is of course better quality; MMmonkey has had guides for this on the TurboGrafx/PC Engine for some time:

This is also I believe the same for The TG16; however the TurboGrafx (ie UK version) you can tap S-video or RGB straight off the Sony CXA chip.

Either way it's VERY tough to find a real RGB capture device. Trying to show a difference between svideo and RGB accurately wouldn't be easy.
Lum fan.

I've not tried S-video because tapped off RGB directly off the Sony chip as had a UK TurboGrafx (ie not TurboGrafx 16 or TG16), and I must say, the RGB quality was excellent. Composite was awful, big colour bleeding and (as I recall) yellow didn't show, got green instead; with RGB the colours were correct. The Sony chip can also output S-video too.

Downside of the UK model is the board is about double size compared to a PC-Engine's and also games run a little slower, however you can also RGB mod the PC-Engine quite easily, although for some televisions you'll need to boost the signals (not needed for the UK model as the signals are stronger).

My suggestion for people wanting a TurboGrafx is to get the UK one.

It is easy to make any TurboGrafx region free, only 4 pairs of wires to swap over.
