Gba Sp+ screen installed in original gba

Post by Rubix_monkey »

Hi guys, just wanted to show you guys my gba that has the gba sp+ screen installed. The brightness is equal to the sp on it's lowest setting, and it has no brightness control, but I'm happy with the results

And here is a video I made:

What's the point with no brightness control? Excuse me if this sounds rude I just don't see the point unless you had two advance systems that could benefit from each others working parts.

brightness #4 is so intense he probably didn't think he'll need it...

gba sp family has four screen levels. Model 1 got the dark original pair. Model 2 (never released in japan) replaced both with new brighter ones.

The point is having a backligit agb-001 with the awesome screen found in the gba sp+. The brightness is exactly the same as the the Ags-101 on it's normal setting, which is about equal to the Dslite on it's second setting

Its also really nice to have a proper light on the far more comfortable original gba. I hate the cramped feel of the SP.

This is actually a kit I got from China, you just order the Ribbon you need and get an Ags-101 screen, thats it.
I don't really have any modding experience and I found it quite easy.

You can get it here: http://item.taobao.com/item.htm?id=1404 ... 367366.0.0

I see that the guy actually added an English section today

Interesting, so it's just a ribbon to adapt the GBA SP screen. Are those prices I'm seeing on there correct? $115.00 for the ribbon and $150 for the screen?

No. They're chinese, not us dollars.
