Phantasy Star sound emulation

Post by Valkyrie-Favor »

I've been meaning to play the Phantasy Star I, II and IV for a while now. I'd prefer to play them on a handheld, and I'm wondering what would sound the best. I've heard of inaccuracy in all emulators, even Sonic's Ultimate Collection. What a pain, that thing

Short of a Sega Nomad, what's the best way to play these games on the go?

PSP Genesis collection - No PS1, inaccurate emulation
GBA collection - no PS4, GBA sounds wrong
PicoDrive PSP emulator?
Any other options?

The GBA collection isn't bad by any means, but you have to watch out for that save bug in PS1 - make sure you save frequently!

Also, you aren't interested in part III?

Get a model 2 Genesis and hook it up to a Turbo Express with the TV Tuner. The Battery pack for the Game Gear uses the same hook-up as the Genesis 2, so it just might fit.
