Playing Japanese Games in a N American Sega Saturn

Post by Caleb »

Will the swap trick work with trying to get Japanese or PAL games to play in a North American Saturn?

I looked but I couldn't find a post that cleared up this question.

If not, would using an import cart be the only thing that works?

Thanks.

The swap trick is just for backups, it doesn't have anything to do with the region lock.

You have several ways to play foreign games in your console, but the easiest is indeed using an import cart (you can also physically modify your Saturn's region or make a backup of the game you want to play and change it's region before burning).

If they are backups, reburning them with the US Region is the way to go.

Yeah, just use the region patching program to switch it over to us then you can use the swap trick.

You can use a region switch if you don't want to use or can't find an import cart and are not using backups or don't feel like patching and reburning
