Siren: Blood Curse

Post by Opa Opa »

Has anyone here played the new-ish Siren title on PS3? It's download-only in North America.

Siren on PS2 was a terrible game but Blood Curse is a quasi-remake that (from what I've read) fixes a lot of the problems that plagued the original.

Also, the game got some physical releases across the oceans. The Asian version is supposedly in full English; text and voice.

I hear the US version is slightly censored, too.

Looks really really good actually. But yeah, apparently it's a huge download. The Asian version is the one with full English.

I was always curious about the original. So we'd just be better off playing this new release/remake instead?

i even wonder if there's any reason to own the original siren game. I still own it, but I never went back to it ever since I beat Siren New Translation.

From playing the demo, the game plays a lot better than the original. Like mentioned earlier, the US version is censored so you're better getting the region-free versions floating around the net.

I guess I'll give the Asian version a whirl.

Most definitely. I didn't really enjoy the original; this remake looks a lot better.

I mean if the original wasn't a pain in the ass, then maybe I would consider playing through it. God, maybe I should just sell it and be done with it. To be clear, this is not a remake, but more or so a reimagining of Siren.

I snagged play-asia's last copy it seems; and thanks to the magic of Fedex, the game arrived in record time.

Sight-jacking is more streamlined and easier to use compared to the original.

So far so good.

Wow, they improved the combat drastically. You're actually somewhat capable of fending off an enemy now; provided you find a weapon, of course.

Granted, sneaking past enemies is still the most attractive option because they're still not shy about using knifes, axes, or even guns. But now you have a fighting chance... sometimes.
