Let me just say that paper mario and paper mario: the thousand year door are easily my two favorite games, and I am really excited to see that the 3DS installment is going to follow the style of those two games. I am a bit concerned about the lack of partners in the e3 demo, but the rest of the game looks amazing. I've seen the demo on my 3ds, and the papercraft visuals really look good in 3d.
Anyway, I have noticed that you can preorder this game at gamestop, but I do not see any official nintendo announcement of this game's release date. Has gamestop just pulled a speculative release date out of their ***, or has nintendo officially announced the release date for this game?
The e3 gameplay demo for those who have not seen it:

Gamestop is just making release dates up as they go. There's still no official one. As for the game itself, it looks absolutely amazing; the "use-a-one-time-use-item-as-your-only-form-of-attack" system sounds very, very interesting.

^^ Stock up now for release!

If they brought out a new printer I might buy that game just for the nostalgia factor, but that is a big might.
Re: Paper Mario: Sticker Star
Printers are so cheap and easily available that it would be a very dumb idea. Even for nintendo accessory standards.KDub wrote:If they brought out a new printer I might buy that game just for the nostalgia factor, but that is a big might.

Same here! It's always an excellent year when a new Paper Mario releases, and this has gone on after I played the original and it captured my No. 2 favorite (TTYD as the 1st) game spot. Including Super Paper Mario which was very fun, haters be damned.BlackDS wrote:Let me just say that paper mario and paper mario: the thousand year door are easily my two favorite games
The only thing about Sticker Star I'm concerned about is the lack of exp. in battles. Aside from stickers (which are apparently EVERYWHERE), what's the point of battling then?

I like the idea of interacting with the environment in battles, but do you have to find the stickers for your battle commands for every single battle? That just seems like it would get grating.
Re: Paper Mario: Sticker Star
I think you do. What I'm also concerned about, is how weak the default (empty book) attack commands. I mean even if the world is full of stickers, there has to be the possibility of running out.Dylan wrote:I like the idea of interacting with the environment in battles, but do you have to find the stickers for your battle commands for every single battle? There was a door feature that the devs purposely avoided during E3. My guess is that using your turn on it gets you a random sticker.Pichu wrote:I think you do.
