Aren't you too old for video games?
I come from a family, where video games are viewed as toys for children. I constantly get peppered with the same question, AREN'T YOU TOO OLD FOR VIDEO GAMES?. my response consist of ignoring the inquiry, or simply answering "no i am not" and continue on my way. i'm only 22 and so the f*** what if i'm too old i'm not hurting anybody lol, but seriously what do you guys think, is there an age you feel is appropriate to reconsider your hobby, or do you see it my way and feel as if video games are alot more than just toys. let me know how old you are, how long you've been collecting, and whats your point of view on the matter?

When I was a kid, I was always told that games were for kids (hence, the reason my parents didn't play them). The past 10 years have shifted perceptions a lot, I've noticed, and I haven't heard anyone criticize an adult for playing games at least occasionally in a long time.

video games are becoming a pretty important form of media and in some cases are just as influential as movies. It is obvious to us gamers that games are alot more then just toys but the way games are portrayed on tv and in movies probably leads alot of non gamers to consider them as toys.

Sometimes my parents say this. And i say "because it's fun". And my mother say "Why do you enjoy this "killing" games?(GTA and most FPS)". Funny she never mention the games where i play as a italian plumber or as a monkey with a red hat, only sees the "bad" side.

My dad still jokes about it, but I've just had to accept it for... whatever reason. He's the one in his 40's playing the guitar once a day, same deal, different hobby.

There is no elder-age restriction on video games. Obviously, content requires varying levels of age maturity. But, an age limit ... that comes from people who don't actually understand what video games are, they only remember how they were initially marketed.

I hate that notion. I can't picture myself NOT playing games in 20 years.

My parents still thinks that even though i have a professional career and all.
Though my parents was the the one who nurtured this habit lol, they bought me every console since the SNES all the way up to the Dreamcast and PS2. The first console i actually bought with my own money was the PS3

There are no age-limits when it comes to hobbies.
