Re: Sony Working On Shadow Of The Colossus Movie
I'm going to allow myself to anticipate the possibility of this being awesome.
I hope it has almost zero dialog in it and doesn't add any extra narratives. Fat chance maybe, but the ambivalence and minimalism of the game's story are the aspects I really loved about it, and it could be a unique experience if the film retained that.

I would only watch a SotC movie if it was directed by Jean-Jacques Annaud.
Re: Sony Working On Shadow Of The Colossus Movie
I can't see how this movie could be good. I mean it's going to be made in Hollywood? Yea that'll end well. I'm calling it now they'll have way to much back story, no horse and probably only one colossus that the entire movie builds up to horribly. Also agro the horse will be able to talk.
I could see Ico making a better movie to be honest.

I've been waiting for this. I have absolutely no faith that it'll be good, but I'm interested in seeing how it'll turn out.

Re: Sony Working On Shadow Of The Colossus Movie
Who on earth would pay to see a boring movie like that?! Silence is awkward, remember? There will be atleast one annoying sidekick character that cant stop talking or doing bad jokes (Eddie Murphy perhaps?), atleast one female character whose sole purporse is to get half naked at some point of the movie and there will be a lot of explosions and shooting. The entity who aids Wander (Dormin) will naturally speak English with an American accent, because who likes to read subtitles?Key-Glyph wrote: I hope it has almost zero dialog in it and doesn't add any extra narratives.

When I first heard about it I thought:
"SOTC MOVIE; yay!
Josh Trank; Oh. Oh... Um... No. No no no."

Re: Sony Working On Shadow Of The Colossus Movie
Only way this would translate into a good film is if it were actually made in Japan and contained minimal dialogue.
Sounds like none of these things are happening. I'm sure it will be awful.

I don't think it'll work.
Doesn't the idea of a movie kinda undermine the fact that SotC's revered because of the way it uses video games as a unique medium?

Re: Sony Working On Shadow Of The Colossus Movie
Personally, I'm going to doubt that the movie is actually going to come out until I hear they start shooting.
I'm also skeptical there will ever be a seriously good video game movie. And while Shadow of the Colossus is a great game, I'm not sure it's movie material.
