So I bought a bunch of Sega stuff at the fleamarket the other day (32X for 10 bucks!) and with the bundle came this Genesis Model 2. And I noticed where there is normally a dust door (or a Sega CD) on the side, there's this..odd looking thing sticking out. I've never seen it before.
Anyone know what purpose this serves? The only guess I have is it could be an aftermarket dust cover for the card edge on the side for those who lost their original dust door, but that doesn't make sense because well..look at it.

It came with the (then new) 32x, on some Genesis models you had to use it so the 32x would not look for the Sega CD attachment, otherwise it supposedly won't run. I have one of those but don't use it and don't know any one else too have either.
Ahh, I see. How odd. Thanks for the quick response dude
