So I like my PC to be as quiet as possible and I'm looking for a new gaming video card (that and I've had bad experiences with GPU fans).
What's the most powerful fanless video card out there?
EDIT: Sys.specs: i5 660, Gigabyte H55-UD3H mobo, 4GB DDR3, SSD OS drive, Win7pro, and a 7 year old ATI x550 fanless video card that needs to be retired to component out only.

It's this guy!
Anyways, I wish I could help more, but I have no experience with passive cooling cards. I do have an ATi 6850 though that I love and I believe there is a passively cooled one available.

ATI 6850 fanless... that is nice but wowzah, about $250. I'm looking for maybe $150 tops. Any other recs??
Also, to further clarify, I'm not looking for too powerful of a card (obviously if I'm going fanless, right) but at least something that can run semi-new PC games and of course, anything from 5~10 years old.

I recommend this HD 6670, it's $99 and is capable of running any current PC game at decent settings, it even comes with a Free copy of Dirt 3 which would be a decent benchmark of its capabilities.

Re: new video card advice
Nice price, nice level of performance. How do you think it would handle something like The Witcher 2?? My monitor is a 4:3 1280*1024 so I don't think it'll tax many video cards...Hazerd wrote:I recommend this HD 6670...

Re: new video card advice
You should still be mindful of what you're pumping through the card. Passively cooled cards don't tend to deal with heavy workloads well ... even if their chipsets can handle it, the cooling is usually completely insufficient.
Re: new video card advice
I'd be leery of a passively cooled card for actual gaming. I've had a couple in my HTPC, for light tasks, but the only guy I've known who had one in his desktop rig had lots of issues.
