PAL Saturn games with out protective layer

Post by Menegrothx »

I've got a PAL copy of Panzer Dragoon Zwei and it doesnt have the same kind of plastic layer protecting the cover art as later Saturn games. Is there anything I can do to the protect the game's cover art? Unlike in PS2 games and such, you cant remove the plastic layer from a new Saturn game so I cant sacrifice a bad game for that either. I was thinking about the same kind of plastic sticker that you add on top of school books, but I wont try anything like that before I know it's a safe and an accepted method amongst Saturn collectors (TM)
My WTB thread (Sega CD/Saturn games)
Also looking to buy: Ys III (TG-16 CD), Shadowrun (Genesis) Hori N64 mini pad and Slayer (3DO) in long box/just the long box

Yeah those boxes are shit. They looked ok new, but they get tattered, don't hold the disk in place very well, and the glue that holds the cardboard layer onto the cardboard eventually cracks off. At least the last complaint can be repaired though.

So long as you look after it though the artwork shouldn't take too much of a battering. But if it really bothers you and you think you can get the sticky backed plastic onto the box without any creases or bubbles then go for it.
