Azel: Panzer Dragoon RPG
This may be a stupid question, but I was wondering if the dialogue for Azel: Panzer Dragoon RPG is in Japanese or English, or if there's an option. The only reason I bother asking at all is because I have a Japanese copy of House of the Dead, but it's all in English, and since Azel: Panzer Dragoon RPG is usually like a sixth of the price of Panzer Dragoon Saga, I figured it it was at least worth asking.

I own it. Buy it only if you know Japanese.
Re: Azel: Panzer Dragoon RPG
I'd say only buy it if you're a collector; in addition to being in Japanese, it's known for being difficult to get working on non-Japanese Saturns.
Re: Azel: Panzer Dragoon RPG
It works on a US system with the right Action Replay code.

But yeah, you'd need a pretty good walkthrough handy to get through the game.

The good point is that it is cheap!
(FC, AVFC, NES, SFC x2, SNES, N64, GC x2, Wii x2)*(G&W x7, GB, GBpocket, GBASP, DS-L x2)
(GEN, SS x3, DC x3)*(PCE-Duo)*(Xbox:500GB)*(NGCDZ, NGPC)*(PS1, PStwo, PS3:160GB, PSP.3K)

Kinda the opposite, those games sold really well there and the system was far more successful. There's simply a lot more copies of those games going around.ninjainspandex wrote:life would be so amazing if i could read japanesei cant believe how cheap the saturn rpgs are in japan. there must not be a huge retro gamer demand there
Re: Azel: Panzer Dragoon RPG
Retro gaming is very big in Japan. The Saturn sold extremely well there and RPGs were hugely popular. Stuff like the Shining Wisdom, Shining the Holy Ark, Albert Odyssey, Magic Knight Rayearth, Dragon Force, Dark Savior, Lunar 1 & 2, etc. often go for... $1-10 CIB. Shining Force III: Scenerio I is often quite cheap, too. Azel is usually $10-25.ninjainspandex wrote:life would be so amazing if i could read japanesei cant believe how cheap the saturn rpgs are in japan. there must not be a huge retro gamer demand there
Also, homes in Japan are not as spacious as in many other countries. While people do like retro games, they often focus on a few consoles instead of everything like some of us. Space is a big reason.
Finally, while we are in the habit of trying to sell our unused stuff for as much as we can get, in Japan... they practically give it away. The trade value for retro games in Japan is super low. It makes Gamespot look like Robin Hood sometimes! So, people do not demand higher prices as often. This, in turn, keeps thing much more reasonable. Common games here like FFVII and Earthbound end up with stupidly high prices that to not reflect their availability. While this does happen in Japan (yup, Mario games are a bit more expensive because of the name), it's not as extreme as in the west. FFVII in Japan goes for... $1-10 (maybe a bit more in Akihabara).

Re: Azel: Panzer Dragoon RPG
Is the PAL version of Panzer Dragoon Saga any cheaper than the US version?
