what's your opinions on metroid other m?

i think it's great so far! for me personally i think i'll end up enjoying it more than the prime games since it's just a lot easier to play. i've been getting more involved with school & work recently, so its nice to be able to play a game where everything's a lot more straight forward. it's usually always clear where you need to go or what you should be doing, and there's more save points; plus you don't go back as far when you die! i did think the story gets a bit strange at times & the voice-overs were pretty bad, but they weren't enough to ruin the game for me at all like some people made it out to be.

The only major complaint I had was voice acting which was horrible but the gameplay mechanics were fine.

I basically share your opinion. I think there is room for both styles of 3D Metroid games. Although I started all 3 Prime games and got pretty far, I haven't ever finished one. I did finish Other M, so I guess I liked that one more than the others.

I liked that the controls were interesting too.

I imagine I'll get annoyed by it sometimes for similar reasons to other players, but if its actually as fun to play as it looks, it shouldn't be problem.

Now the Prime series is odd for me. I'm impressed by them when I play them, and I want to love them, but just like equalsign, I've never actually finished one. I don't know what the deal is with that, but there you have it.

I hated the "scanning" and lock-on targetting in Prime, so I've never gotten past the first level.

Well no, but I've had many opportunities to buy it at good prices and keep passing it up for reasons I couldn't explain if I tried. I've wanted it since it was announced.

I know that doesn't make any damn sense.

I think I got a new copy for something like $5 shipped, so yeah you have no excuse.
