PSP RPGS
PSP RPGS
Well I have stayed away from my PSP long enough. I know of the FF and the Personas but what others are there. I was hoping you guys could list them off for me.

Re: PSP RPGS
There are a ton of brilliant PSP RPGs out there, but Valkyrie Profile should be your top priority
After that, Tactics Ogre and Jeanne D'Arc demand your attention. Star Ocean 2, Hexyz Force, Yggdra Union, Trails In The Sky, and many more are worth your time.

Is the PSP port of Valkyrie Profile noticeably better than the original?Valkyrie-Favor wrote:There are a ton of brilliant PSP RPGs out there, but Valkyrie Profile should be your top priority

Re: PSP RPGS
Yes. You'll get more out of it if you're really into Norse mythology, but it's great either way. Gameplay, story, characters, music, artwork, atmosphere - it's creative and mature in every category.Protronrob wrote:is Valkyrie Profile really that awesome?
The main difference is that it's in widescreen, which is awesome. The 3D graphics and framerate are improved by the beefier hardware. The sprites do look awesome on the PSP screen and it sounds the same as the original. Unfortunately, it replaces some important scenes with tacky CG movies. They aren't bad, but the original hand-painted stills are much better. Also, no anime intro in the beginning, but that hardly matters. And it lacks the bugfixes in the American PS1 version. So the PSP version is inferior but still awesome. And widescreen. Is the PSP port of Valkyrie Profile noticeably better than the original?
And, no matter which version you chose, play Hard Mode and get the A ending. Very worth it.
If you run out of PSP RPGs after all that drop me a line

Could you list the series in order. I may want to play the earlier versions first.Valkyrie-Favor wrote:Yes. You'll get more out of it if you're really into Norse mythology, but it's great either way. Re: PSP RPGS
The PSP library is amazing. I recommend tracking down the Ys games if you've never played them: Ys I & II Chronicles, Ys: The Oath in Felghana, and Ys Seven are all fantastic action RPGs developed by Falcom and published by XSeed. I'd stay away from the PSP port of Ys: The Ark of Napishtim however, it's pretty poorly done and the PS2 version is much better.
The Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky is another beautiful Falcom game, again localized by XSeed.
If you've never played a Star Ocean game, parts 1 and 2 are available on PSP. Part 1 is a remake of the SNES game, part 2 is more or less a port of the PS1 original. Extremely solid titles.
I could go on all day day about PSP (and DS) RPGs, I'll let other people have some say first...

Also check out Crimson Gem Saga, Riviera, Knights in the Nightmare, and Yggdra Union. The last three are RPGs but blend with other genres for a unique experience.
