I am debating between these two:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/US-seller-Sega- ... 311wt_1110
and
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Sega-Genesis-1- ... 2eb79befc2
I will be using the stereo sound coming from the front of the unit. However. If I ever find my self in possession of a Sega Master system I might need the audio split out.
Will this work in a sega master system?
Will the sound on the genesis still work through the front output if the scart has an audio split out?
Thanks!
Which Scart cable for my Genesis Model 1?
Re: Which Scart cable for my Genesis Model 1?
Depends on your audio setup. I would only buy the 2nd cable if your audio is coming straight from your tv speakers. Otherwise just buy a 3.5mm stereo cable and use a Y splitter on the other end.
I have the 1st cable and it works great though, don't freak out if you don't get much correspondence from retro accessories. And buy from their website, you save a little bit on shipping.

That extra wire is audio input, not output. It takes in sound from the headphone jack because Genesis model 1 doesn't have stereo at its rear port.
The extra wire will do nothing for Master System, unless you mod it to install headphone output like Genesis has.
Though you probably could do weird things like plug a Game Boy or something's headphone jack into the extra wire. GB Tetris music "mixed" into MD Tetris anyone?
