Walking Dead the game

Post by jay_red »

Anyone else have a chance to download this? After becoming a fan of the TV series recently I was pretty interested in this game, and I just finished the first episode and it is excellent. It really captures the feel of the series, with difficult choices and tense moments. One interesting thing is that your answers in the dialogue sections will effect how the story progresses in the later episodes (that will become available to download in the coming months)

I've heard good things about it, although the audio has gotten a couple of marks against it from some reviewers. I'll look into it, when I get money.

I got it and played about 1.5 hours and am loving it.

Its a combination of Sam and Max "find the right piece to move on" and real time action segments. The part I like the best is that you have a time limit for dialog choices and the characters react both in replies and actions based on what you choose. There were many times I was trying to figure out what to say and I choose the asshole statement and didn't realize it until he was saying it.

The story is awesome and seems to be set in the comic not the TV show. The story focus on a dude who is being taken to jail in the back of a cruiser when the zombie apocalypse hits. Due to a car crash, he passes out only to realize that he is one of the few who are not walkers. The game takes place at the very beginning of the zombie apocalypse, so there are more survivors and confusion on what is going on than the stories featuring Rick and his crew.

I loved the graphic novel and the TV series... so yeah, I'm a fanboy. I'll pick this up when it hits the iOS app store for sure. Loved what TellTale Games did with the Back to the Future series!

I'm waiting for the inevitable compilation disc. Episode 1 looks great, however.

I'm not sure how inevitable a compilation disc is.. Back tio the Future got one, but a lot of the other Telltale episodic games didn't.

Also if you buy all 5 episodes now you save 5 bucks.

Great time to get caught up, they just finished season 2 and will probably be re-running both seasons a lot on AMC. Last I heard, this is their biggest hit show, even more successful than Mad Men
