Atari Jaguar: what should my next cart be?

Post by nightrnr »

Here's a list of what I have:

Alien vs. Predator
Attack of the Mutant Penguins
Bubsy in Fractured Furry Tails
Doom
Evolution: Dino Dudes
Fight For Life
Hover Strike
Iron Soldier
Raiden
Ruiner Pinball
Super Burnout
Tempest 2000
Trevor McFur in the Crescent Galaxy
Ultra Vortek
Wolfenstein 3D
Zool 2

...and I recently ordered Fight for Life (yeah, I like weird/bad fighting games)

Here is what I'm considering:

Cannon Fodder (always wanted, but it's not exclusive either and might consider a GOG purchase instead)
Cybermorph (oddly, I don't have this common game, but I remember being unimpressed and more interested in Hover Strike; might give it a 2nd chance)
Iron Soldier (fairly cheap and I have good memories)
Kasumi Ninja (yes, I know it's reputation, but keep in mind that I enjoyed Battle Monsters (Saturn))
Ruiner Pinball (because every system deserves a pinball game)
Power Drive Rally (if I can find it at a reasonable price, but maybe I should get Micro Machines on N64 instead)
Protector Special Edition (probably can't afford this)
Super Burnout

I'm leaning towards Cannon Fodder or Iron Soldier.
I'm willing to hear other suggestions too.

Power Drive Rally is an honestly awesome, but difficult, game. I'd recommend it.

Wow, I'm surprised about the Super Burnout recs. I just played Super Hang-On on GBA (Sega Arcade Gallery) to re-evaluate how I feel about motorcycle racing games and found myself having fun. So I may give that some more serious thought.
Also, I don't have a racer for the Jag yet, so that seems like a logical choice (Power Drive Rally might just have to wait).

I was considering Cannon Fodder, but...
...for some reason I thought it was 2-player. It doesn't look like it is, so I don't see what would be especially attractive about having it (other than to have it for a home console).

Yeah, I'm pretty happy with my other versions of the game (Saturn, 32X, SNES). I may pick it up if I ever see it cheap, but don't feel a desperate need for it.

Yep, already have that one. It's cart only, and while I'd love a complete copy, it's not a high priority.
Plus, I have the game on Saturn and PS1 (Tempest X3), so I'm pretty set on that end. The Jag version is still better somehow though.

I'm definitely not getting Rayman though. It usually goes for a premium and I'm perfectly content with the PS1 version.

No joke, look at it. One of the best looking games and I bet it plays nice too.
