question about playstation move for ps3.

Post by fumanchu »

i am thinking about buying house of the dead 4 on psn but i read you need ps move to play it.
i was just wondering do you need the actual ps move camera as well or just the ps move controller?

You will need the PS Eye. the Move controls work very well once calibrated. :)

No idea? Maybe in some sort of bundle. I bought all my Move stuff used.

If you buy a Move bundle it comes with a camera. (There was actually a killer deal about a month ago making a Little Big Planet 2 kit with the camera, controller, and sub controller for like $70)

Just buying a move controller does not include PlayStation Eye, which is the primary method of tracking the controller's position.

Would it still work? In theory yeah, but there's likely some piece of software that states you need the PSEye ... Personally, I don't know how that situation plays out because I don't have one.

What's the typical price range people are getting for a used ps move set on Craigslist? I wonder if it can be had dirt cheap these days?

House of the Dead: Overkill is $10, coincidentally:

Interestingly, I just bought House of the Dead Outbreak and the PS Move a week or two ago. I was in a similar situation wondering what I needed (you don't technically need the navigation stick thing BTW, as the Duelshock 3 can be used as a substitute). I bought the Eye and Move in a bundle together pre-owned.

I have to say I'm a bit disappointed with the Move though (Don't get me wrong though, HOTD is awesome with it, as you'd expect). I've never really got into motion control as much as some, which may be partially the reason, but I also just didn't find it any better than the Wii with motion-plus. It's just a straight carbon-copy. At least Microsoft tried something different with Kinect. Also, besides Heavy Rain (which can be played fine without), No More Heroes and HOTD, there's hardly any games I care for that require it.

Is No More Heroes really that bad with a Dualshock?

No idea, haven't tried it yet surprisingly. But apparently, motion control wise, it's much better on the Wii anyways... So I've heard. I've never played it on the Wii though.

If it's ok with Dualshock, just add the text I included in brackets after Heavy Rain to after No More Heroes too.
