Who else has video game ring tones ?

Talk about just about anything else that is non-gaming here, but keep it clean

Who else has video game ring tones ?

Post by Ziggy »

My current ringtone:

I like this one a lot because it just sounds like a ringtone that came with a phone. So 99% of the people that hear my phone go off wont think twice, they'll just think I set it to one of the factory ringtones. It'll make it that much better when some one recognizes it!

So, who else uses video game music as their ringtone ?

I use Metroid Metal's rendition of Kraid's Theme.

I don't have a phone (Gasp! In this day and age?).

I have the codec "incoming call" from Metal Gear Solid as my ringtone for work.

It's great because of the subtleness of it. To most it just sounds like a cell phone "ring" sample, but ones that get it are like "man, that's awesome!"

Make that +2. When I get a phone, you'll have to excuse me stealing your idea. That's just too awesome not to use.

Heh that's what I use as well. For text messages I was using the 1-up from super mario but I just switched to the sound of mario jumping on a turtle out goomba.

This thread made me smile.

My ringtone is the Chemical Plant Zone theme from Sonic 2. My tone for when I get a text is the intro music from Captain Skyhawk.

I love lots of SNES music, but it's not 'ringy' enough in my honest opinion. They're too soft in tone. That's why I like NES music for ringtones. I have Mega Man 3's Snakeman stage ( as my main ring tone. I'm not really into custom-per-person ringtones.

As for my incoming text sound, it's the only one ever needed. The Super Mario Bros 1Up sound.
