ASUS Xonar Essence STX Soundcard need a confirm on something

hi RB members , i am planning on getting a ASUS Xonar Essence STX Soundcard below is a link of it.

It has a Digital Coax connector on it but want to use a Fibre Optical Audio Cable not Coax Cable.

In the retail box comes a S/PDIF optical adapter , if im correct what this adapter does is plug in to the Coax port on the back of the Soundcard and then you can plug in a Fibre Optical Cable.

Can anyone confirm this is correct ?.......

Accessories: 1 x S/PDIF optical adaptors

I don't see any other way to read this, but I can't say for sure, 100%.
