Re: New NES game interest thread
That's awesome! I'm definitely interested in new NES games. Unfortunately, Kaboom! just isn't my cup of tea. Best of luck to you, though. Any interest garnered in this area is good news, as far as I'm concerned.

Re: New NES game interest thread
Awesome news and best of luck man. I myself am not a puzzle gamer but always nice to hear about games being made for retro consoles.
It's time to kick a$$ and chew bubble gum...and I'm all out of gum.
Re: New NES game interest thread
I consider this more of a action game, but eh, it could be considered a strange type of puzzle game! Just don't tell the guys on NESDev, heh.

Re: New NES game interest thread
The concept certainly interests me. I need to get the two battle kid games. But as far as this goes, that type of game doesnt interest me a ton, and the fact that it's a clone makes it less so. I understand that making a game like this is a ton of work though, but if more "deep" games were released for old consoles, id support them.
Re: New NES game interest thread
Yeah, I'll be moving on to another more complex game with scrolling after this, probably a platformer mega-man style. But it's just a simple game that's supposed to be a 1 or 2 playr pick it up and play game, so I can't add a ton, it just needs to be fun.
And as for Battle Kid, wait for the 2nd now it'll be out soon. And check out Super Bat Puncher too, that game will be very good too. And of course my next game, heh, whatever that may turn out to be, heh. Or you can buy this one too, heh.
But thanks for checking it out.
And yes, it is a lot of work. This games code is about 2KB, the data for everything is about 2KB too, plus graphics, and then the lines of source is about 2000 in about 20 different files. Yes, it is a lot of work, but I enjoy it. It's fun for me and the persons who get to play the games in the end. It's a win win.

Super Bat Punch looks super awesome, I hope it comes out. I probably won't spend too much on a game like that, but I'll definitely buy a good platformer no problem. I'd even pay a small premium for the luxury of a manual.3GenGames wrote:Yeah, I'll be moving on to another more complex game with scrolling after this, probably a platformer mega-man style. Yeah, it may come with a manual, but I'd guess not until for info comes out. And yes, it'll be out, it'll be the first release using the 8T-ROM from Memblers, something I may even look at for my next game, and probably will use, too. I need some 32KB MMC3-like CHR-RAM bank switching, heh.
But yeah, it is awesome. Then of course there's pier solar and....hmmm....just a bunch of older NES homebrews that have ROMs and Source out. Shiru makes some nice games Lan Master, Lawn Mower, Alter Ego that all have ROMs+source online and I'd advise checking out too.

Would love to see a Homebrew of the Little Monsters Movie starring Fred Savage!

Re: New NES game interest thread
Give Fred Savage a big head and use Maurice for puzzle elements,of course theres an underworld for a change of pace and throw some tunes in from something like TG16s Ghost Manor..Brilliant!TEKTORO wrote:Would love to see a Homebrew of the Little Monsters Movie starring Fred Savage!
