How far behind are you, gaming wise?

Post by BoringSupreez »

I'm just about finished catching up on 2008. There's still plenty of games from 2009 that I haven't played yet, and I hardly have anything from 2010 and 2011. How far back are you guys? Or are you hip with the times?

There was a Steam tool that analyzed your library and told you how many unplayed games you had (amongst some other useful statistics)... I can't find it now, but I last used it around Christmas or so and over half of my Steam games had never even been launched.

I have this nasty OCD habit where I'll buy a sequel that I'm interested in, but then refuse to play it until I've beaten every single other game in the series... So right now I've got Metal Gear Acid 2, Metal Gear Solid 4, Hitman 2 and 3, The Witcher 2, Bioshock 2, (I have beat the first one, but I started a second playthrough and got obscenely bored) Killzone 3, Mass Effect 2, Kane & Lynch 2, Gothic 2 & 3... I could go on, really, all unplayed and unloved despite my excitement to play them eventually.

Edit: found it, the title is apt: Wasted on Steam

I beat Metro 2033 recently, playing Borderlands now, waiting for Darksiders 2 in June! and Diablo 3 in May!

This made me think of how a couple of years ago, I had absolutely no interest in owning anything "newer" than an N64. Then one day I went to the local game store and spotted a beautiful indigo Gamecube. I had to have it. After a couple of months or something I finally bought it along with F-Zero GX and my mind was officially blown. I had never seen graphics like that before in all my gaming experience. Crazy, I know. But yeah, that was the last time graphics really made me do this:

To answer the question though, I'm definitely not hip on all this xbox 540 stuff or whatever it is that you hooligans play these days.

If the only consoles you own are the ones in your sig, you'd have to be.

Here in my country finding a good working console it's pretty hard, or even the games, they wanna sell the games overpriced and a awfull condition.
That's the main reason why i sell my genesis, it wasn't working correctly and was having a hard time finding a good one, well there's allways ebay.

I'm still working my way through Bioshock, Mafia 2, Max Payne 1 & 2, Mass Effect 2, Dead Space 2, STALKER: CoP, and something else I cant think of at the moment. And Red Orchestra 2 multiplayer isn't making it easy to catch up on those...
