Different colo(u)r consoles
No, not special edition ones, just standard edition multicolored ones. What's your opinion on them? I feel that they make your console feel unique, even if it's mass produced and only aesthetically different. The GC did this especially well, and making matching GBA colors was genius.
Re: Different colo(u)r consoles
I like it, especially when the colors are more diverse than just white or black. It's something we won't see much of anymore, I fear. The platform holders are too worried about making sure we do not mistake their toys for...well, toys.
Maybe now Nintendo will acknowledge Metroid has a fanbase?

Re: Different colo(u)r consoles
I remember that. I remember the rumors swirling in gaming magazines about a Color Game Boy. As a kid I hated the pea-soup green colors the original Game Boy gave us, and the Game Gear only had a handful of great titles in comparison. But imagine Nintendo handheld games, in full-color. Man was I hyped. And then the official announcement happened, and it was just the original Game Boy with new coats of colored paint. Biggest gaming let-down, ever.GSZX1337 wrote:There were multiple colors of the original Game Boy as well.

But the Play it Loud campaign was great!

Re: Different colo(u)r consoles
I used to dislike them, mainly due to the fact they tend to be bright coloured. I love neutral/cool coloured ones though. Stuff like the glacier GBA and graphite GBASP.
Older. Not wiser.
Re: Different colo(u)r consoles
Meh. I just really liked the see-thru one. If I wanted a custom console, I'd ask for an image rather than a static color.
(Nintendo Power ran a contest where players could design their own GB. Of the three winners, one included handle-grips which presumably had to be made. The 3 runner ups got some pretty nifty pre-made custom ones too.)

My scheduling skills have died of dysentery; I hope to visit at least on a monthly basis.

I love different coloured consoles, it gives me a reason to buy more Game Boys.

Re: Different colo(u)r consoles
I had a translucent purple GBC, then during generation six I had matching platinum GBA and GC.
