I hope this is the right forum...
I just want a clarification on Assassin's Creed, I played the first and I am ready to play the second but there seems to be Assassin Creed II and Brotherhood and Revelation. Can any one explain to me what is going on here?
Assassin's Creed sequence
Re: Assassin's Creed sequence
They wanted to keep making money on the franchise, and cranked them out on a yearly basis.
ACII -> Brotherhood -> Revelations.
Brotherhood continues the story of the main character from II, Revelations continues the story of the main characters from both I & II.
ACIII has had its cover art appearing on game news sites recently, but follows a new assassin.
If you're worried about playing them out of order in terms of the game's chronology...you already have. Sorta. According to wikipedia, it's AC:Altair's Chronicles (DS/iOS/etc) -> AC -> AC:Bloodlines (PSP) -> ACII -> AC: Discovery (DS/iOS) -> AC: Brotherhood -> AC: Revelations.

A trilogy became a trilogy within itself and they'll probably continue to repeat this.
Yep.
Yep.

Ubisoft likes money. And you already wrote yourself one of these...Xeogred wrote:A trilogy became a trilogy within itself and they'll probably continue to repeat this.

Re: Assassin's Creed sequence
So now that I want to play the game I have to play ALL of these?
or can I just play Creed 1+2+3?
This is what I had in mind and I don't care about extension stories or side missions. Just the main thing.

AC1>AC2>AC Brotherhood>AC Revelations
Those are all of the main games as the series stands right now.

Re: Assassin's Creed sequence
Damn I don't want to play that much , thats at least 60hrs before I get to assassin creed II!!!
I guess I'll just play II since everyone is praising it, maybe jump ahead to III

Re: Assassin's Creed sequence
Er, I don't know where you're getting 60 hours from, so I think you might've misunderstood me.
Play it in the following order, top to bottom.
Assassin's Creed
Assassin's Creed 2
Assassin's Creed Brotherhood
Assassin's Creed Revelation
See, Brotherhood and Revelation come after 2. There is no 3, it hasn't been released yet, and it won't be for at least a year.
Now if you skip around, that's your choice, but those 4 games, in that order, are how the story flows.
I should emphasize though, that Brotherhood and Revelation are not side stories. They're part of the main series.

Re: Assassin's Creed sequence
This reminds me of when Van Halen decided to release their album titled Van Halen III (1998) eight albums after Van Halen II (1979).
A younger music fan looking at their catalog would wonder "WTF?!"

Re: Assassin's Creed sequence
Ubisoft picked up a really annoying trait from Rockstar. ACIII better be better than GTAIV.
EDIT: Also, this isn't exactly the right forum for ACIII
